Tomorrow, tomorrow

Journal Entry: Mon May 12, 2008, 6:54 AM
  • Mood: Eager
I have one more exam and then my second year of uni is officially over. I'm gonna study like mad once I'm done writing this, in the hope that I might get a half decent grade tomorrow. Then I'll go home and finally tidy my room - it's so bad it's even driving me crazy, then probably drop by at my sister's to stare at the baby.

Oh, I also need to find a job for the summer.

But that aside, I can't wait to finally have time to read again! If you have any suggestions for novels, short stories, poems, anything, leave me a comment. I'm open to almost anything really.

So far I have a list of books I need to read, in no particular order:

1. Lajja, Taslima Nasrin (I started it and left it months ago!)
2. Never Let Me Go, Kazuo Ishiguro
3. Life of Pi, Yann Martel
4. On Beauty, Zadie Smith
5. The Kite Runner, Khaled Hosseini
6. The Memory Keeper's Daughter, Kim Edwards
7. Yellow Dog, Martin Amis
8. One Night at the Call Centre, Chetan Bhagat (thanks ~nascent-sirocco!)
9. Dr Thorne, Anthony Trollope
10. A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens
11. White Noise, Don Dellilo
12. The Family, Mario Puzo
13. A Passage to India, E. M. Forster
14. The Blind Assassin, Margaret Atwood

As for poetry, well, I've got a whole anthology to peruse, haha.

More time for traditional art and photography too.

What do you guys have planned for the summer?

How about i pay you in petrol then? Although, you wouldn't drive here... I would catch a train to reading and then take a very short bus journey, the bus of which goes straight past my house :P

He's three and a half, so still pretty young. He looks a lot bigger though - seems like he's gonna be a tall one.

Woo, weekend! :D

*passes you the cheese on toast*

Wet jeans = bad... at least mine were suit trousers so they dried off pretty quick :)

How olds your nephew? I have a 6 yr old nephew, also a 5yr old and 2 yr old niece :) (or maybe she's 1??) Work was ok though, got lots done as my co-worker isn't in at the moment, so i don't get bugged  lots to do tomorrow though and then the weekend! :D

I would love some, thank you! :D

I had wet jeans today as I wasn't wearing a belt, so they trailed along and got soaked. Threw them off as soon as I got in, haha. I hate the idea of them making the carpet dirty.

Oh I haven't done a lot. Mainly babysitting stuff - took my nephew to his weekly swimming lesson and then to nursery. Now I'm just chilling out :) How was work?

hehe, care to come have some cheese on toast??

well i have my fingers crossed for your results!

The wet trousers weren't good, but they are nice and dry now... although now I'm home from work, I'm gunna get changed :P I will only wear a suit for so long!

What have you been up to today?

Haha! That's awesome though. Everyone needs bread and cheese. :D

Exams were okay, not brilliant. I'll see when I get my results, whenever that is. :paranoid:

Wet trousers suck. :(

I do enjoy the rain, but it did get in the way whilst i was walking to work this morning! *had very wet trousers!*

Thank you for the birthday wishes :) I did indeed enjoy my birthday, went out for dinner with family and friends, the usual birthday stuff. My sister bought me the funniest of presents... jokingly i asked for cheese on toast for my birthday and she actually bought me a loaf of bread and cheese. The mad woman...

Yay for exams being over! How'd they all go?

I tried to! Now that my exams are over, I'll be able to make much more use of it...once the sun comes back.

Driving in the rain is kinda fun, though.

How about you? Did you enjoy your birthday? (Happy belated birthday btw - sorry!)

Hello there :)

How've you been enjoying your week so far?

Did you make the most of the sunshine until it was taken away by the rain?
